About Me

My name is Adam Beeman, and I am a 44-year-old local electrical business owner. I am a proud member of our community, with a deep passion for serving the residents of our county. For the past seven years, I have had the honor of serving on the OC planning board. From being a vice chair in 2019 and 2020 to becoming the chair in 2021, this experience has provided me with invaluable insight into how our county is developing and the benefits of effective zoning and planning. With this knowledge, I firmly believe that I am uniquely positioned to continue serving our county as a commissioner and have a positive impact on our future. In addition to my role on the planning board, I have also been serving on the OC Board of Adjustment since 2022. This has further deepened my understanding of the intricate details and challenges faced by our county. But my commitment to public service extends beyond these positions. As an electrician with 15 years of experience, I have been working in our community, providing essential services to our residents. I am someone who has overcome significant challenges. A cancer survivor and an Above Knee amputee, I have experienced the lows of life but have never given up. In the face of adversity, I have found opportunities and the determination to make a difference. My experiences have shaped me into someone who understands the struggles of our community and the importance of resilience. With my extensive experience on the planning board, my dedication to improving education and workforce development, my commitment to addressing traffic and road concerns, and my desire to enhance water and sewer capacity, I believe that I am the best candidate to serve as a commissioner and represent the interests of our community. I kindly ask for your support and the opportunity to serve the citizens of OC.

Priorities

Trade school/classes

I have witnessed firsthand the need for young people to enter the trades. We must address this issue by investing in trade schools and ensuring that all kids, regardless of their future plans, have access to quality education. I strongly advocate for the establishment of trade classes and, looking ahead, the creation of a trade high school. By doing so, we will not only provide opportunities for our youth but also contribute to a workforce that is well-prepared and capable of building a strong future for our county.

Roads/Traffic

One of the most common concerns I hear from our community is surrounding traffic and roads. As a member of the planning board, I have listened and understood the frustration. If elected, I will work diligently with county staff and the Department of Transportation to explore solutions and alleviate congestion. We need to prioritize improvements in our infrastructure to ensure a smoother commute for all residents.

Wastewater Treatment

Another critical issue that requires our attention is water and sewer capacity. It troubles me to see our county spending money to send sewer capacity to neighboring cities, while the cost of infrastructure continues to rise. As a commissioner, I will request a comprehensive report from county staff on the state of our wastewater systems and promptly seek ways to enhance their efficiency and address any deficiencies.

Equal Representation

I firmly believe in the power of representation and the importance of ensuring that the all of our county residents have a voice. I will advocate for changing the representation makeup of the board, giving more opportunities to the residents of our county rather than municipalities. By taking a D1 seat making it a third at-large seat, we will open doors for more individuals to serve and make decisions that benefit the entirety of our county
